Blaine has served on the VEC board since 2001. He and his wife, Kim, farm and ranch near Drake.
Cindy Smith Town: Minot Secretary/Treasurer
Cindy has served on the VEC board since 2002. She and her husband, Mike, farm SW of Minot. Cindy also operates an home restoration business in Minot.
Ken Schild Town: Harvey
Ken has served on the VEC board since 2003. He and his wife, Julie, farm south of Harvey.
Pat Bachmeier Town: Granville Vice President
Pat was elected to the VEC board in June 2007. He and his wife Amber live northwest of Granville. Pat works at SRT as a Wireless Technician.
Bob Wolf Town: Minot
Bob was elected to the VEC board in 2008. He and his wife Lisa live east of Minot. Bob is the Training Director for the Dakotas JATC (Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee) and has worked as a journeyman electrician and apprenticeship instructor.
Karen Hennessy Town: Des Lacs
Karen Hennessy lives in Des Lacs with her husband Jay and their children: Shelby, 14, Tucker, 12, Fletcher, 8, Aspen, 7, Eli, 5 and Sutton, 2. Jay operates Hennessy Builders and the family raises Simmental and Commercial cattle. Karen graduated from Lansford High School and from Minot State University with an associate's of applied science degree in 1993. Karen is a stay-at-home mother who volunteers as a 4-H leader and is also a substitute bus driver for the Lewis and Clark School District.
Maxine Rognlien Town: Towner
Maxine (Grieve) Rognlien grew up on a farm near Buffalo, North Dakota. She attended North Dakota State University and graduated with a major in Home Economics Education in 1979 and began her 32-year teaching career in Towner. She retired from teaching in May 2011. She has served as Superintendent of Schools for McHenry County since 1989. Maxine also previously served on Verendrye Electric's Member Advisory Committee. She and her husband, John, live near Towner where they raise cattle. They have four grown children and two grandchildren.
John Warner Town: Ryder
A fifth generation Ward County farmer, John Warner and his wife Janice live south of Makoti. He is a graduate of both Minot State University and North Dakota State University.
Warner was first elected to the North Dakota Legislature in 1996 and has served in the Senate since 2004. He is currently in his fourth term on the Appropriations Committee and has served committees on transportation, political subdivisions, human services, agriculture and finance & taxation. This past year he has also served on the Energy Development and Transmission committee.
In addition to several local boards and committees, he serves on the board of the Minot Symphony Orchestra and the steering committee of Rural Leadership North Dakota.
Shawn Kaylor Town: Velva
Shawn Kaylor was raised on a farm 6 miles north of Velva and he currently lives on a farm near there. He is a fourth generation farmer who graduated from Velva High School and attended Minot State University and North Daktoa State College of Science, Wahpeton, where he studied farm management.
He is married to Molly and they have two children, Kylie, a senior at Velva High School, and Brett, who will start high school in the fall. Shawn is a volunteer firefighter with the Velva Fire Department. He is a past member of the McHenry County Ag Improvement Association and is a member of the Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.
He enjoys camping, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.
