The United Nations General Assembly has declared 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives. This page will have links to information about the IYC and various IYC events throughout the year.
Electric cooperatives like Verendrye Electric deliver power to 42 million consumers in 47 states. According to the Washington, D.C.-based National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA), more than 29,200 cooperatives of all kinds employ 2 million Americans. More than 1 billion co-op members exist worldwide, and co-ops generate 100 million jobs globally.
